Commission schedules burial and approves columbarium design pending foundation work
Summary
The commission recorded one completed burial, set Milissa Stone’s burial for June 6 at 2 p.m., and approved a columbarium design for the Knight family, noting the unit’s dimensions (approximately 38" by 29") and that the columbarium will require a deeper foundation (suggested minimum 18" wide and 4 ft deep).

Susan Lyons reported that Dorothy Perkins’ burial has taken place and that eight burials are on the commission’s list; two additional burials remain scheduled. She said the LaFleche lot will receive a stone for Milissa Stone, with the family choosing Friday, June 6 at 2:00 p.m. for the burial.
The commission reviewed materials submitted by Joe’s Custom Mfg. for a columbarium for Willet and Theresa Knight. Matt Walker explained the unit’s dimensions—"38" wide and 29" tall"—and commissioners discussed foundation requirements, noting that a columbarium foundation would likely be wider and deeper than a standard marker. Commissioners identified potential contractors (Jon Maurice; firms in the Newport/Derby area such as the Bianchi brothers) and agreed Susan Lyons will contact contractors and vendors to complete necessary paperwork and foundation arrangements.
