During public-highways discussion a member described worsening road settling and frequent standing water at the right-hand turn adjacent to the courthouse parking lot in the Town of Surrey, saying the water often reaches the curb and creates a hazardous condition for motorists.
"Right at it's on the courthouse side when you make the right hand turn... Every time there's a rain, the water just fills up until it's almost going right over the curb," the participant said. Commission staff noted the report and said they would follow up on the location to investigate drainage and road elevation issues.
Members who had visited the location corroborated the observation and described it as a low spot that collects runoff; no corrective action or funding decision was taken at the meeting.
