The council adopted Resolution 2025-6 to designate two short-term (15-minute) parking spaces on Market Street just west of Garden Street—directly in front of the new ground-floor retail outlet Bliss B. Deputy director of capital projects Erica Follin said the change is signage-only for now and was recommended by a traffic engineer at the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission to encourage turnover for retail and takeout.
Several councillors questioned whether 15 minutes was sufficient for customers picking up orders. Andrew said 15 minutes felt tight for a run-in order, suggesting 30 minutes might be more reasonable; Erica and the CCRPC representative said short-term parking is typically 15 minutes for the fast-casual or takeout model (order ahead or use delivery services). The council adopted the resolution by voice vote.
