Ruthann Tobiason, representing the SL Creative District, told the council the district will apply for an ArtsWA Capital Projects Grant to fund wayfinding signage across the Creative District area. "The grant will cover costs of posts and signage for the Creative District area," she said, and the Creative District requested the city partner on a plan and an MOU to proceed.
Councilmember Bryson moved to take the proposal under consideration and direct staff to work on a plan for presentation at the Nov. 19 council meeting; Councilmember Woodhouse seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. City staff and the Creative District noted there may be some city costs but suggested tourism funds could cover those local expenses if the grant is awarded.
