Asotin council hears regional transit update, asks for monthly police reports and follows up on damaged traffic pole

Councilmember Craig Stein reported the Lewiston PTBA office coordinator is retiring and said the agency discussed possible consolidation of offices across Washington and Idaho, noting attendant legal and funding differences.
Councilmember Tim Ottmar said a new employee has been scheduled for polygraph and physiology testing and that the Public Safety Committee would like monthly police department reports. Ottmar also raised the damaged traffic pole and fence at First and Washington; Clerk-Treasurer Tina Davidson said the incident was reported to the Washington State Department of Transportation (per Wes Rains) and Mayor Dwayne Paris will follow up. Councilmember David Weakland introduced the visiting students from his U.S. Government class; Mayor Paris thanked them for attending.
