The Asotin City Council held a first reading of Ordinance 2025-906 on Nov. 17, 2025, which would fix assessed valuation and adopt a budget for the City of Asotin for fiscal year 2026. The motion to approve the first reading, moved by Councilmember David Weakland and seconded by Councilmember Steve Cowdrey, passed unanimously, 5-0.
City Clerk-Treasurer Tina Davidson told the council she had finalized the preliminary budget and the 1% General and EMS levy information the council would consider. The meeting included a public hearing on the preliminary budget and levy increases that opened at 5:35 p.m. and closed at 5:36 p.m. with no public comments. The first reading does not adopt the ordinance; the council must complete any subsequent readings or required notices before final adoption.
