The committee approved a one‑year agreement with MRH Solutions at $6,000 per month to provide economic development support, including grant seeking and enterprise‑/opportunity‑zone work. County Administrator Jim Grafton described the move as a reactivation of county economic development capacity after a period of limited continuous effort.
"This is a new initiative That we are taking to address Economic Development in Rock Island County which is something we have not done for quite some time," Grafton said, explaining the firm will help pursue grants and work on river‑edge development opportunities. Committee members supported advancing the contract to secure expertise beyond ad hoc initiatives.
