County awards RCTP grants totaling about $69,000 to four towns

Jaden Sheffield of the Jackson County Engineer's Office presented the FY2027 RCTP committee recommendations and recommended awarding funds to four municipalities based on safety and project ranking. Sheffield listed recommended awards of $25,000 to the city of Andrew; $21,376 to Springbrook; $15,412 to Willamette; and $8,212 to Miles. The board member noted the recommendation was included in the meeting packet and then moved to approve the awards.
Sheffield also provided an on-the-ground construction update, noting three bridge projects were underway and a paving mobilization scheduled for Bernard Road next week. When members asked about local traffic detours and dust control, the engineer described how planned quantities were redistributed across routes to reduce impact on residences.
