The board opened a public hearing at 9:33 a.m. to receive comment on a proposed remodel and 180'x60' addition to the Secondary Road storage building in Anamosa. The Engineer provided an overview and citizens Pat Redmond and Linda Stickle offered comments before the hearing was closed at 9:44 a.m.
At 10:00 a.m. the board opened bids for the project. Three bids were received: TriCon General Construction ($1,289,000.00), Beck Construction, Inc. ($998,000.00), and Steve Monk Construction ($1,249,872.00). Moved by Supervisor Zirkelbach and seconded by Supervisor Hall, the board awarded the contract to Beck Construction, Inc. in the amount of $998,000; the construction contract will be approved at a future board meeting. The motion carried unanimously.
