The finance committee approved an engineering contract with Hazen & Sawyer for tasks required by the EPA MS4 permit in an amount not to exceed $149,156.
Dan Hudson explained that the MS4 permit allows stormwater discharge to local waterways but imposes monitoring, testing and reporting requirements. Hazen has supported the city previously and will help collect samples (via subconsultant), analyze results and assist in preparing the annual permit report. "This allows us to discharge drainage or stormwater basically into local waterways. With that comes permitting requirements ... Hazen has helped us with that each year of the permit," Hudson said. The committee approved the item by voice vote.
