David Boucher, wastewater superintendent, said ADS will install nine flow meters at permitted combined sewer overflow (CSO) sites, eight flow meters in an interceptor and three rain gauges across the city. "We're required to submit information monthly to our regulators ... they would put nine flow meters in our permitted combined sewer overflow sites throughout the city," Boucher said, adding that the system will notify staff of relevant activity. The vendor was the low bidder following a public bid process.
Committee members asked about the prior contractor (Flow Assessment of Auburn) and whether this replaces or supplements existing work; Boucher said ADS was vetted and was low bidder. The motion passed by voice vote.
