Madison council adopts temporary appropriations and passes pay ordinance totaling $3.24 million

On Dec. 23 the Village of Madison council approved Pay Ordinance No. 2514, which the mayor presented as covering $69,695.44 for payroll and $3,168,842.97 for current and upcoming expenses — a total of $3,238,538.41. The motion to approve was made by Mr. Adams and seconded by Mr. Vest; the roll call recorded five yeas and the measure carried.
Council also passed Ordinance No. 32-2024 to set temporary appropriations for the period Jan. 1 through Mar. 31, 2025. Motions to suspend rules and to pass the ordinance were each approved by roll call (5 yeas). Fiscal Officer Kristie M. Crockett said budget packets are out and the budget was adjusted to include a decommissioning quote for the Waste Water Treatment Plant.
