Commission schedules special meetings, adopts motions and sets next steps

The planning commission recorded several formal actions and calendar changes. A motion to approve the May 1, 2025 minutes was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. On the Virginia Main Street item commissioners voted to accept a draft resolution for consideration and postpone its signing until the next meeting to permit edits and clearer role definitions; Vice Chair Hambach moved the motion and it was seconded and carried by voice vote.
After discussing the comp-plan schedule the commission directed staff to post materials and to arrange outreach. For calendar management the commission canceled the June 19 meeting for Juneteenth, called a special meeting for June 18 at 6:30 p.m., canceled July 3, and tentatively scheduled July 16 as a special meeting to continue comp-plan deliberations. The town clerk will post the official notices.
