Don told the board the airport applied for $25,000,000 but was awarded $5,000,000 and described the ATP program as winding down this fiscal cycle. "We applied for $25,000,000 … but we were awarded $5,000,000. We are grateful for that," Don said. He said the award leaves a $5,000,000 gap for planned terminal work and staff will rely on additional bond proceeds and other sources to make up the difference.
A board member asked where the 5% local match would come from; Don said the match will be provided from the $20 million general‑obligation bond approved by citizens in May of last year and already programmed for this purpose. The board voted by voice to recommend acceptance and will forward the recommendation to city council.
