Parks board approves temporary move of recycling bins to Rose Park for 180 days

Leslie, a Parks staff member, told the board Public Works requested moving the recycling center from the HEB parking lot to a location at Rose Park. She said the temporary placement is already in use between the Bridge Club and the stormwater facility and staff is proposing that the site become permanent after development work.
Board members asked about impacts to nearby baseball/softball fields and whether pavement would be added. Leslie said pavement and service logistics would be determined by Public Works. Jack moved to approve a temporary placement and later amended his motion to set the trial period at 180 days; the motion passed with a unanimous voice vote. "The temporary location is already there," Leslie said during discussion.
The board directed staff to bring more detailed plans from Public Works and to revisit the location after the 180-day trial period.
