Alderwoman Christensen reported Budget & Finance Committee actions to the council on April 20, and the council approved the committee’s Payroll Policy and the proposed compensation and pay‑scale ranges.
Committee members noted the 2026–2027 payroll itself was not approved; the committee deferred final payroll adoption while staff align salary changes with an expected cost‑of‑living adjustment (COLA). Committee discussion also noted a possible 6% increase in health‑insurance costs that will be revisited in May.
The council also approved the committee’s recommendation to upgrade the city’s online meetings system and make the website ADA‑compliant. The estimated cost is $19,222.40 for the first year and $17,220.40 annually thereafter.
