Council appoints Jessica Chamberlin as interim city administrator

The City of Sidney City Council on April 20 approved Jessica Chamberlin as Interim City Administrator and she took the oath of office at the meeting.
Alderwoman Christensen moved to un‑table the appointment and made the motion to approve Chamberlin; Alderman DiFonzo seconded. During discussion Alderwoman Rasmussen raised concerns about the wage amounts associated with the interim appointment. The motion carried with voting recorded as: Kauffman, Rasmussen, DiFonzo, Buxbaum, Christensen and Larson voting yea.
Chamberlin’s oath was administered later in the meeting alongside the oath for the newly appointed Interim Clerk/Treasurer. The council previously tabled the appointment on April 6 and reconvened the item for action on April 20.
