Council previews appointments to economic, cemetery and health advisory boards

For the Bryan Brazos County Economic Development Foundation staff listed Michael Connor, Christopher Osgood, Sohil Hamadeh, Michelle Bright, Vicky Rodriguez and later added Kyle Cassell. For the Cemetery Advisory Board staff listed Erin Cessna, Alicia Benford and Debbie Schmitz. Staff reported one applicant for the Health Board, Barry Ivins, and reminded council that some appointments require Bryan residency.
Staff said the city received the applications via email and will return to council at the next regular meeting for formal appointment votes. Council members discussed the importance of subject-matter expertise on advisory boards and the historical practice of appointing industry representatives to positions that interact with regulated sectors such as restaurants and public health.
