The Bryan City Council unanimously approved a text amendment to Chapter 130 of the city code to retire legacy planned-development (PD) zoning categories and add clearer purposes, permitted uses and development standards for PD districts.
Allison Kaye, the city's planning administrator, told council the change is intended to reduce confusion between development plans and zoning uses and to provide predictable expectations for the development community. The Planning and Zoning Commission had recommended the amendment unanimously. A councilmember who had requested the change thanked staff for their work and said the revision will better assist developers and community stakeholders.
Council voted to approve the ordinance amendment on the first and only reading at the meeting; the motion carried unanimously.
