Bryan Fire Department wins national EMS reaccreditation; community poster winners honored

The City of Bryan recognized the Bryan Fire Department for successful reaccreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS), placing the department among a small number of Texas agencies holding the credential.
Chief Richard Giusti accepted the recognition and thanked firefighters and EMS personnel for their day-to-day service. "They're helping people every single day, on their worst day of their life," Giusti said, thanking command staff and council for support.
Earlier in the meeting, the Fire Marshal's Office announced winners of the department's annual poster contest; this year's theme was lithium-ion battery safety in the home. Three students from Sol Ross were called forward to receive certificates and prizes.
Council members praised the department's professionalism and commended staff for the award and community outreach efforts.
