The Bryan City Council approved an ordinance to create a reinvestment zone for a property in the Tabor Road/Carrabba Industrial Park area after a public hearing and staff presentation.
Todd explained the item as part of a two-step package related to a large confidential project and said the reinvestment zone is the first step. He told council that utilities (BTU), sanitary sewer and water service issues had been addressed and that the Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval on Nov. 6.
Staff moved the item forward; Council member (speaker 7) moved to approve and Councilman Bridal (speaker 9) seconded. The mayor called for a voice vote and the motion carried unanimously.
Todd and staff said the reinvestment zone sets the framework for potential tax abatement and other incentives; further details and any abatement agreements would return to council for consideration.
