Resident asks council to address blind corner near 5800 S. & 1400 E. and for a flag at the city entrance
Summary
During public comment Kathy Palmer asked the council to evaluate painting or marking a corner at 5800 South and 1400 East to reduce a sightline hazard caused by parked trucks and trailers, and she suggested adding a flagpole with an American flag at the city’s south entrance on Highway 89/Harrison Boulevard.

Kathy Palmer identified herself during the public comment period and asked the council to evaluate a corner at 5800 South and 1400 East where she says a neighbor frequently parks a truck and trailer that create a blind curve for drivers entering or turning into driveways. She asked that officials consider measures — for example painting curbs red — to restore sightlines and improve safety for children and other residents.
"There's a corner there and our neighbor likes to park his truck and trailer and maybe an extra car there, but he pulls up so far that it's a blind curve for me trying to go either around the corner or straight into my driveway," Palmer said. She also proposed installing a flagpole with an American flag at the city’s south entrance (where Highway 89 meets Harrison Boulevard) so visitors see a welcoming flag when they enter South Ogden. The mayor said staff will look into the intersection next week.
