Staff weighs internal fleet service fund; council told payroll was trued up after market adjustments
Summary
City staff told the council they are evaluating an internal service fund for fleet management (not implemented this fiscal year) and that payroll figures were adjusted after recent market pay changes; staff included an estimated 0.5% 401(k) match in the packet and will itemize changes before final adoption.

Staff (speaker 6) told the council they are considering creating an internal service fund for fleet maintenance and tracking but will not implement it in the coming fiscal year. "We're not gonna implement it into this year's budget, but in a lot of ways, really one department is running and taking care of most of the fleet for the entire city," the staff member said, and added they would consult auditors about additional requirements for such a fund.
Staff also said the packet reflects a payroll 'truing up' after market adjustments and includes a speculative estimate of a 0.5% match to a 401(k) option; staff pledged to itemize and highlight any changes between the present packet and the final budget so councilmembers can review the adjustments before the vote.
