During budget questions Councilmember Schillen asked about building-and-grounds line items. Director Anderson (speaker 7) identified two major uses of the city building upgrades line: concrete work at Station 81 and proposed xeriscaping at City Hall. "One of the biggest ones you see on there is concrete, we finally got the concrete going out there. It's Station 81 here," Anderson said, adding crews began work that day and that xeriscape and concrete together would account for the bulk of the funds.
Anderson said painting and carpeting had been completed and that each city facility maintains its own building-maintenance budget; Station 82 and other buildings have separate allocations. Councilmembers accepted the explanation and staff said they might increase capital line items if final calculations warrant it going into the FY2026 adoption.
