A committee member told the council that the Heritage Trail monuments ordered for phase 2 have increased in price and that the project is short by roughly $30,000–$35,000. “We're about 35,000 short,” the committee member said, explaining that per-monument costs rose from just over $20,000 a few years ago to about $27,000–$28,000 now and that vendors require a deposit to begin production.
Staff said they were waiting on the vendor invoice and recommended adding the shortfall to the Heritage Trail project account to allow ordered monuments to be produced and delivered within the vendor’s lead time. The council directed staff to include the needed adjustment in the capital-outlay list presented for final budget adoption.
