Auditor announces Phyllis Perry Hulton scholarship meeting; drainage complaint raised

Marshall County Auditor/Recorder Nan Benson used the public forum on April 29 to announce the annual Phyllis Perry Hulton scholarship meeting will take place on May 6, 2026 at the Marshall County Election Center and noted that “last year, over $200,000 was given to Marshall County graduates.” The board received the announcement during the public forum portion of the special meeting.
Engineer Paul Geilenfeldt brought up an ongoing drainage issue on Oak Park Road where surface water is running into a ditch and causing problems for a property owner. Chair Jarret Heil also called attention to a forthcoming Times Republican article documenting the history of road names in Marshall County. The board confirmed the next regular meeting is May 6, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.; materials deadlines were reiterated.
