Judge to seek emergency grant to fix courthouse dome and aging elevator

The judge said he will seek emergency grant funding to address both the dome and the elevator; emergency repairs historically have required about a 50% local match, and the judge said the county has matching funds available. "If approved into that grant, we'd almost be getting a 2 for 1 on our projects," the judge said, describing that dome funds previously budgeted could serve as match so both projects could be completed.
He said he will bring a submission for an emergency grant to the court in January for consideration.
