Mayor Trey Gunn opened a public hearing March 17 on Community Bank's request for a variance from Section 404(A) of the storm water/rain water regulation (Ordinance No. 272) for a proposed development in the C-3 zoning district. Mr. Tim Pickett represented Community Bank and presented the request; City Engineer Tim Parker, City Attorney Bobby Lingold and Community Development Director Joel Sims offered professional opinions and written findings.
After hearing the presentations, Alderman Brian Grantham moved, seconded by Alderman John Banks, to deny the variance and to adopt Community Development Director Joel Sims' written findings and conclusions from the public hearing. The motion carried by a unanimous vote. The denial preserves the existing ordinance requirements for stormwater control in the C-3 district for the property under consideration.
