Florence board approves claims docket, minutes and convenes an executive session on police personnel

A motion by Alderman Brian Grantham, seconded by Alderman Brent Sistrunk, approved the claims docket; the motion carried unanimously. Alderman Kyle Martin moved, seconded by Alderman John Banks, to approve the minutes of Dec. 16, 2025; the motion carried unanimously.
Later in the meeting, Alderman John Banks moved, seconded by Alderman Brent Sistrunk, to consider the need for an executive session to discuss police-department personnel involving the dispatcher and officer positions; the motion carried unanimously. The board then approved a motion (moved by Alderman Grantham, seconded by Alderman Herrin) to enter executive session at 6:45 p.m. and later returned to regular session at 7:05 p.m. (motion by Alderman Sistrunk, seconded by Alderman Martin). Mayor Trey Gunn adjourned the meeting at 7:05 p.m.
