At its Dec. 2 meeting the Florence board adopted a board order regarding observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays; Alderman Mason Herrin moved the measure and Alderman John Banks seconded, and the motion passed unanimously. The board also voted to place a 'Merry Christmas' advertisement in the Rankin County News at a cost not to exceed $185, a motion moved by Alderman Brent Sistrunk and seconded by Alderman John Banks.
The board approved the claims docket (motion moved by Alderman John Banks, seconded by Alderman Mason Herrin) and approved the minutes of Nov. 18, 2025 after a motion by Alderman Brent Sistrunk and a second by Alderman Kyle Martin; Alderman John Banks was recorded as abstaining on the minutes vote. Mayor Pro-Tem Grantham adjourned the meeting at 6:45 p.m. The minutes are attested by City Clerk Linda Wigley and bear a mayoral signature line for Trey Gunn dated Dec. 17, 2025.
