Jill Malone, the owner of 1605 Acosta, told the Building Advisory and Appeals Board that she signed a release giving the mortgage company and the lienholder's representatives authority to oversee and perform repairs on the property. "The papers have been signed, and, attorney Brackett is here with the contractor that will be doing the work," Malone said for the record.
Staff and the lienholder's attorney confirmed the release was returned on the 24th of the previous month and that contractors have been retained to begin work. The board nevertheless pressed for more explicit scheduling and documentation, saying it wanted engineering findings, permits and in-person updates at upcoming meetings so the board can verify progress rather than rely solely on assurances.
