Council introduces seven ordinances to acquire easements for Shire Rings Road shared-use path

Dublin City Council introduced seven ordinances authorizing the city manager to execute conveyance documents to acquire small warranty deeds and easements from multiple property owners for the Shire Rings Road — Eiderman Road to Cosgray Road — shared-use path project. Staff said the acquisitions are necessary to connect two existing shared-use paths and improve overall network connectivity.
"The Shire Rings Road ... project will construct a shared use path along the south side of Shire Rings Road, connecting 2 existing shared use paths and improving the overall shared use path network connectivity," staff planner Brian Gable said in his presentation. He told council the city has negotiated in good faith with property owners and that most acquisitions are near completion; two remaining transactions are still being finalized or will proceed through the appropriation process.
Staff recommended adoption of the ordinances at second reading and scheduled a public hearing for 03/09/2026. Council had no public speakers on the item and expressed support for the connectivity benefits the project is expected to provide.
