Hatfield said early in-person voting increased sharply: 23,340 voters used three early-voting sites during the eight-day early-vote period, and the county saw 12,579 mail-in ballots with about 54% returned via secure drop boxes. "This year, we had, about 78% voter turnout," Hatfield said. She credited the expanded early-vote sites, roughly 327 trained election judges, interdepartmental support and improved logistics for the short wait times and successful administration.
Hatfield and commissioners also noted the increasing role of early and mail voting in distributing load away from election day, improved security protocols during a period of heightened threats, and broad community appreciation for election staff and volunteers. Commissioners thanked elections staff and volunteers and encouraged ongoing transparency and readiness for future cycles.
