One council member said trip funds are currently small and proposed increasing their allowable uses and percentage to support emergency services and capital items that would make transit more attractive.
Staff cautioned that the DCTA long-range service plan would need to be updated and that more precise rider-origin data would be required to justify service changes. Several council members said quarterly reporting on regional transportation work would be preferable to semiannual updates so the city can track membership and service negotiations more closely.
