Commissioners discussed hosting a joint work session with the Library Advisory Board on Sept. 16 to coordinate outreach and programming.
Staff described the library's proposed topics—supporting inclusion days for people with intellectual disabilities, collaborating on proclamation calendars, and finding ways the library can support DEIB citizen working groups. Christie said she recommended a 45-minute focused session with 15-minute cushions on each side; commissioners agreed keeping to an hour was appropriate.
Commissioners suggested possible agenda items such as co-hosted displays for proclamation months, cost-sharing for library displays, and coordinating on programs to encourage reading among adults as well as children. The item will return as a formal agenda item with logistics for the Sept. 16 session.
