Board hears that internal-investigation counts have dropped in past year

This year, we're on we're currently doing number 6, and almost all of them are internal complaints."
Members noted these counts may reflect underreporting historically and that the presence of the CCRB could change future reporting patterns. They also emphasized the board's primary interest is external complaints and asked staff to track volumes and report back when a case completes the review process so members can debrief and learn from each matter.
