The Highland Village City Council approved a contract to rehabilitate the Highland Shores well on Feb. 24, voting 7–0 to award the work to Weisinger Incorporated under the city’s cooperative purchasing agreement.
"We budgeted $300,000 for it," Mr. Tristan, the utilities staff member presenting the item, told the council and corrected a number in his briefing, noting the well’s current capacity is 0.87 million gallons per day (MGD), not 8.78 MGD as typed in the briefing. He described the work replacing the motor drive shaft, column pipe segments and pump bowl assembly and said the bid covers labor, equipment and reinstallation.
Councilmember motioned to approve Resolution 2026-232 awarding the contract to Weisinger Incorporated and another council member seconded; the motion carried 7–0. Tristan said the city identified two wells for rehabilitation this budget cycle and that Oak Street well was approved previously. He added the contract will include a reconciliation change order if unknowns alter the final price.
