During public comment, several residents and former officials urged the council to keep operations under local control or to consider the current operator and city staff alternatives. Questions focused on whether the proposed fee is sufficient to cover salaries and maintenance, how equipment ownership and repair responsibilities would be allocated, and whether customer pricing or resident discounts would change. An initial motion to approve failed to receive a second; the council then moved and approved a motion to table the item until the second meeting in April so staff could return with additional financial detail and options.
