County departments brief commissioners on operations, portico and flag project

During the Oct. 14 meeting the board received written and oral reports from the Building Department, Road Department, Health Department and the Drain Commissioner. No formal action was taken on the reports, which were entered into the minutes as received.
In reports of officers, County Administrator Chad Shaw updated the board on a county flag project, work on the courthouse portico and new county signage. Commissioners also gave brief updates on recent meetings and events: Chairman Jack Shattuck on an Ionia Public Schools event; Commissioner Larry Tiejema on Central Dispatch Board and Michigan Works; Commissioner Gordon Kelley on an Eight-Cap meeting; and Commissioner Terence Frewen on a Michigan Association of Counties seminar.
