The Mar-Oco Landfill Committee met Feb. 13, 2026, at the Marinette County Resource Center and approved several routine motions including purchase of a software upgrade and authorization for the landfill director to sign contract paperwork. Chairperson Bart Schindel called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m. and the session adjourned at 9:38 a.m.
Committee members approved the agenda and the minutes of the Jan. 9, 2026 meeting with motions that carried with no negative votes. The committee later voted to approve purchasing Advanced Weighing Systems’ Interact 7 software (the vendor no longer supports Interact 6) and authorized Landfill Director Paul Klose to sign the associated paperwork after review by Marinette County Corporation Counsel. The minutes record the motion to approve the software upgrade as Lavarda/Graese.
The meeting also incorporated results from a topographic airspace survey performed by SCS Engineers on Jan. 12, 2026; the firm reported 164,644 cubic yards of available capacity remaining and staff estimated the landfill will reach capacity in approximately five years at current average intake. The committee reviewed the January 2026 schedule of paid invoices totaling $6,444.25 and set the next meeting for March 13, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at the Oconto County Courthouse.
