County animal-shelter volunteer promotes adoptable cat, urges donations and sponsorships

County staff welcomed a weekly "animal of the week" presentation from the Linda Kelly Animal Shelter and introduced "Belle Bottom," an adoptable kitten the shelter said arrived in August with a litter.
"She is actually 4 months old, but she looks a lot younger," Brandy (speaker 6), the shelter care supervisor, said. She said Belle Bottom had difficulty gaining weight but is now available for adoption and described the shelter's adoption fees: $40 for cats, $75 for dogs and about $10–20 for barn animals. Brandy added that adopted animals come vetted, microchipped and spayed or neutered.
The shelter also requested donations (bedding, toys, food, enrichment items) and encouraged volunteers and sponsorships to support animals awaiting adoption. The board thanked the shelter and encouraged residents to visit the county website for local holiday event listings.
