At the start of the July 28 meeting the board interviewed Jess McConkie for membership on the Zoning Board of Appeals. McConkie introduced themself as a longtime Raymond resident and said they wanted to contribute time and effort to the board. "I've been a Raymond resident for a long time," McConkie said, and asked about what the board looked for in a member.
After a brief exchange about home‑occupation workload and time commitment the board moved and seconded a recommendation to the Select Board. The motion to send the recommendation passed; the Select Board will take a separate appointment vote. The ZBA then conducted its officer elections: David Murch was nominated and accepted the chair role and Greg Dean was nominated and accepted as vice chair; members indicated unanimous support for the slate.
Procedural note: recommendation to the Select Board is an advisory step; final appointment occurs when the Select Board votes. McConkie will receive required onboarding and training if appointed.
