Police Chief Gary Davidson reported the results of underage alcohol compliance checks. He said Oden's Liquors failed an underage purchase in January but passed a follow‑up test this week; Express Liquors failed the current check. Chief Davidson said no additional city action was required at this time.
Separately, Mayor Terry F. Bell and Chief Davidson discussed a July 1 fire response during which a siren‑activated traffic signal did not function properly and several vehicles failed to comply with the emergency response. Mayor Bell noted a city (Humboldt) had hard‑wired a button at its firehouse, and Chief Davidson suggested options including a generator or battery backup to address failures when power is out.
