Henderson approves utility truck purchase and accepts low bid for gas pipe supplies

Utility Director Darryl Green asked the board to purchase a ¾‑ton truck on state contract to serve as the standard on‑call vehicle and to be outfitted by an upfitter. Ald. Mark A. Barber moved to approve the purchase from Wilson County Motors for $63,001.00, seconded by Ald. Buel Maness; the motion carried.
Green also presented bids for 2" gas pipe and 12‑gauge tracer wire used for routine gas line extensions. The board accepted the low bid from General Utility Pipe & Supply for $8,760.00 on a motion by Ald. Barber, seconded by Ald. Donna R. Butler. Green noted some materials will be used on the Eric Bell Drive/Casey General Store project and that one of the originally listed truck models is no longer being ordered for 2025.
