The Board approved a Consulting Services Agreement with Dave Schaeffer to provide ongoing county administrative support at $150 per hour, 10–15 hours and not to exceed 20 hours per week, with the contract to end when an Interim or Permanent Administrator is hired. Separately, commissioners debated additional temporary staffing and compensation for the Deputy Administrator. A motion to seek a temporary employee until an interim or permanent administrator was to be hired was withdrawn. The Board did adopt a motion to offer a stipend for additional duties incurred after June 13, 2025, with exact compensation to be determined at a special meeting in July (motion passed 6–1). Commissioners discussed potential conflicts of interest and the need for clear transition responsibilities for any consultant or interim appointee.
