The Board unanimously accepted a $15,000 PetSmart Charities grant and acknowledged an additional $5,000 from the Area Agency on Aging for equipment and supplies for the Commission on Aging (COA). COA Director Jodi Magee presented the awards and the operational need to maintain services.
The Board also approved a motion to allow the COA to purchase a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse through the MiDeal contract for a price not to exceed $41,000. The motion was supported by Commissioners Scott Matley and David Comai after discussion about price comparisons. Magee said the additional Area Agency funds were for equipment and supplies.
Commissioners approved a change to COA floating holiday policy to mirror the non‑union handbook with Veterans Day retained as an exception.
