Board approves Motorola FLEX acceptance and TelRad change orders for dispatch

The Kalkaska County Board of Commissioners reached consensus June 11 to authorize Chair Kohn Fisher to execute the Final System Acceptance Certificate for the Motorola FLEX software, a move presented by Sheriff Patrick Whiteford and carried without opposition.
Sheriff Whiteford also secured Board support for six change orders with TelRad to complete new dispatch equipment. Commissioner David Comai made the Motorola motion and Commissioner Robert Baldwin moved the TelRad change‑orders motion; both were supported and recorded as having no opposition. The Board separately approved a motion to destroy records listed from evidence per state law after Whiteford said all steps followed state requirements.
Whiteford told the Committee the Annex building contents are expected to be emptied by the end of July and recommended maintaining power, internet and camera monitoring until the site is cleared. The Committee recorded that recommendation without formal amendment to operations.
