Board approves RFP advertisement for Rugg Pond design after securing grants

Commissioner David Comai moved to approve advertisement of the RFP/RFQ for design engineering services for the Rugg Pond project; the motion was supported by Commissioner Truman Bicum and passed by consensus. Administrator Schaeffer noted the project is a multi-year effort and that work would not commence until funding was secured and grant conditions satisfied.
Commissioners and staff emphasized coordinating with state departments and public meetings that had taken place the prior year. The motion authorizes procurement steps to identify design-engineering firms in preparation for later construction when all funding is in place.
