County relinquishes one mile of 30th Street to Howie Township

At the July 7 meeting Mountrail County commissioners approved a motion to relinquish jurisdiction over one mile of 30th Street (shared section line) — the right-of-way located in Section 1 & 36, Township 150 North, Range 92 — to Howie Township. Engineer Jana Hennessy and Shelly Ventsch of Howie Township discussed the request; the board voted unanimously to approve the relinquishment.
The minutes say that "If funding is needed for the gravel Howie Township will come back with recommendations," indicating the township will be responsible for future upkeep unless it requests county assistance. Implementation steps and any funding requests were left to future meetings.
