County board hears budget overview as state funding returns to full levels, easing some pressure

"So we have the 50,000 from the farm account which is with 50,000 going to general, a 100,000 going to the capital improvements," Presenter (S1) said when reviewing the revenue sheet. She told the board that those transfers are a typical year-to-year decision and can be adjusted as final numbers are confirmed.
Board members pressed staff for detail on the revenue assumptions that underlie several increases: licensing fees, rents, and reimbursements from recording document fees tied to real-estate transfer taxes. Board member (S2) asked for a follow-up meeting to break apart the area-wide IT vendor costs and determine which line items and labor costs are recurring versus one-time.
The meeting did not adopt a final budget; staff and board agreed to set working sessions to refine insurance, levy and joint-dispatch numbers before any formal vote.
